Working with existing buildings where possible is cost-effective, practical and maintains a link with past stories.

Car Park: A small car park with a disabled bay is at the entrance to the park.

Gardeners’ Shed: Currently partitioned and used as a wood store and potting shed, we would like to retain this historic building, dependent on works needed.

Old Bowling Pavilion. This is currently home to the Pavilion Montessori Nursery School and used as office space by Friends of Barnes Common (FoBC) staff.

Playground Equipment. Popular and fit for purpose play equipment will be retained, subject to recommendations.

Storage Sheds: Situated in the locked Yard, these two containers are used for the storage and maintenance of our conservation and horticultural machinery, tools, and equipment.

Vine Road Pavilion was upgraded in 2018 with funding from Richmond Council, Friends of Barnes Common and other generous donors, to make it fit for purpose for learning/training sessions, admin, and a term-time pop-up café run by students with additional needs from Paddock Secondary School. It is available to hire for children’s parties, classes, or meetings subject to availability and is also home to Barnes Common Cricket Club.
